18,000 Fans Flood Chris Brown Performance on 'Today'

18,000 Fans Flood Chris Brown Performance on 'Today'

If Chris Brown ever doubted his fans' support, he can rest assured. They still love him, and they proved it with a record-breaking turnout at his Today concert Friday morning.

An estimated 18,000 people gathered outside the Today studios in Rockefellar Plaza to see the chart-topping R&B singer, shutting down traffic on two cross streets and breaking the previous attendance record set by Lady Gaga. After performing his hits "Yeah 3X," "She Ain't You" and "Forever," the grateful singer, 22, twittered that he wished the concert was longer. "I love my fans!!!!" he wrote. "It is really truly an honor and a blessing to create music and evoke emotion for positivity. Can't live without my fans."

Naturally, no mention was made of Brown's violent outburst at ABC's Good Morning America back in March -- or of Today's coverage of it a few days later.

During the GMA interview, Brown was asked about his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. "I think I'm past that in my life," Brown said.

Maybe this morning's Today concert is proof that the world is ready to forgive and forget!
