Nick Lachey got down on both knees and begged Vanessa Minnillo to marry him in November, but the two have yet to decide when they'll say "I do." But their lack of wedding planning doesn't mean there's trouble in paradise; they're just too busy to set a date!
"It’s just because of our work schedules," Minnillo, 30, tells People. "For us, work is important. It’s our creative outlet, it’s what keeps us going, it keeps us busy, and we want to be sure that we work around that."
But that doesn't mean Minnillo hasn't put any thought into her big day. She was initially opposed to the idea of a winter wedding, but she might be changing her mind. "(I saw) a wedding booklet about the Ritz-Carlton weddings that they do and it was winter theme and it was beautiful," she gushes. "Something about winter, it’s one of my favorite seasons, it’s very romantic. The twinkle lights and the greenery and the show. So that taught me I need to be more open-minded. We’ll figure it out."
The former MTV VJ says she and Lachey, 37, who've dated on-and-off for four years, aren’t stressed about their upcoming nuptials. "We’re easy, that’s what I love about it," she says. "Neither of us are letting (the wedding) dictate our lives. We’re gonna let it go with the flow… and I have faith in the team we put together to make it as seamless as possible."
Minnillo "can’t wait to be a mom" and is excited about starting a family with Lachey. But she admits that, despite appearances, their relationship is far from perfect. "No two people are the same or no two people are completely different," she says. "We understand that it’s a growing process so we’re willing to accept that and go with it as opposed to saying, 'This is how it’s gonna be.' We know that there (will be) some curveballs."
This will be the first wedding for Minnillo and the second for Lachey, 37. (The former 98 Degrees front man was famously married to Jessica Simpson from 2002 to 2006.)
