HGTV, LA and Dining Room Tables
I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."
B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

Phillip Phillips Visits ?The Tonight Show?
It has been an exciting week for Phillip Phillips, having won ?American Idol? and all, and last night (May 24) he paid a visit to ?The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.?
Despite the fact that he was running on two hours of sleep, Phillips seemed happy to chat with Leno about his big victory and the experiences along the way.
Regarding the date of his upcoming kidney surgery, Phillip noted, ?[It?ll be] pretty soon, within a couple of weeks or so. Gotta get it done... I?m gonna be ready for the tour.?
And when his name was announced as the winner, Phillips was shocked. ?Man, honestly, I couldn?t believe it. My mind was just going everywhere ? I was so shocked ? I forgot how to play guitar.?

Teaming up for French press duties, Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon were side-by-side on the 65th Cannes Film Festival grounds on Thursday (May 24).
The "Twilight" heartthrob and his lovely co-star took to Le Grand Journal for an interview as they promote their new film "Cosmopolis".
The Le Grand Journal appearance comes as Robert and Sarah will be taking their turn on the Cannes red carpet on Friday, May 25th.
Premiering their new David Cronenberg directed drama, "Cosmopolis" finds Pattinson playing the lead of Eric Packer, a 28-year-old billionaire asset manager who rides across Manhattan in search of a haircut. During his day-long journey, Packer delves into an odyssey with a cast of characters that start to tear his world apart.
Talking about the filming efforts during his Cannes press efforts, Rob told Metro France, "We did camera tests. I was sitting in the limo, I didn?t have anything to do ? and I almost threw up. My heart was beating so fast, I was scared David was going to fire me.?

Kody Brown of Sister Wives fame says that even four wives can't fulfill all his needs. Just imagine how regular people with one spouse feel, right?!??!
In the TLC family's all-new book, Becoming Sister Wives, Kody admits that neither Meri, Janelle, Robyn nor Christine totally fulfill all of his cravings.

I'm here! I'm here! And I saw my first gang-banger get arrested yesterday so I feel like a total Angeleno.
I'm getting ready to go to the gym (again, like a total Angeleno!) so I will update later about my run-ins with Alexander Skarsgard, Pauly Shore, and Jeremy or Jason London (I'm not sure which one it was and seeing if I could force him to do drugs to find out seemed unfair. Besides, as it turned out, he was telling the truth?)
Anyhoo, I've got a lot to tell you about gardening! (Did you know if you get dirt wet it turns into mud? Yuck.)

Natalie Portman Set to Produce and Star in "Jane Got a Gun"
The hard-working Natalie Portman has reportedly signed on to play the lead acting role in Lynne Ramsay?s newest film ?Jane Got a Gun.?
After directing ?We Need to Talk about Kevin,? the director is working on the Western flick, which is written by Brian Duffield and was part of the 2011 ?Black List? of unproduced screen plays.
The plot-line is as follows: ?After her outlaw husband returns home shot with eight bullets and barely alive, Jane reluctantly reaches out to an ex-lover who she hasn?t seen in over ten years to help her defend her farm when the time comes that her husband?s gang eventually tracks him down to finish the job.?

Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

'American Idol' Results: Who's Going to the Finals?
And then there were two. After weeks of competition, the remaining three contestants on American Idol were narrowed down to the final two hopefuls.
Phillip Phillips: Urged to Seek Medical Help
Might the success of Phillip Phillips on American Idol be jeopardizing his health? Without a doubt, YES, according to the singer's doctors.
TMZ reports that the finalist's physicians are adamant: Phillips needs surgery to repair a kidney issue as soon as possible. His family doctor even spent the entire day last Saturday - during Phillip's Idol-sponsored trip home to Georgia - by the contestant's side.
But Phillips would be sidelines for six weeks if he underwent the recommended procedure, so he is choosing to soldier on through at least next Thursday's American Idol finale.
In the meantime, Phillip is simply taking medication, but that's also resulting in dry mouth and possibly impacting his singing. Either way, though, win or lose, the talented young man's journey will come to an end in one week.

Will Smith Slaps Smoochy Reporter in Moscow
As he tended to media duties ahead of the Moscow premiere of his new movie "Men In Black III", Will Smith made it clear that he's not one for kisses when it comes to greetings from guys.
The 43-year-old actor was at the Ritz Carlton in the Russian capital city when a Ukrainian reporter dove in to plant a smooch on Smith's face - which ended up being a mistake that the young man won't be forgetting anytime soon.
After first asking for a hug from the former "Fresh Prince" star, who kindly obliged, the journalist attempted to take things further with a liplock - with a startled Will saying, "What the hell is your problem?"
Reprimanding the reporter with a backhanded slap across the face, Will talked about the incident with other press members moments later, telling, "He tried to kiss me on the mouth. He's lucky I didn't try to sucker punch him. ... Sorry, I said that on camera."
Apparently, the Ukrainian media man is known for his penchant to kiss celebrities, with the Smith smooch attempt coming after Will recently voiced his support for gay marriages.

Trayvon Martin Surveillance Video: 7-Eleven Cameras Show Teen Just Before Shooting
Surveillance video of some of Florida teen Trayvon Martin's final moments before being fatally shot by George Zimmerman have just surfaced online.
In his infamous hoodie, Martin can be seen in a video released by 7-Eleven, where he purchased Skittles and an iced tea before walking home Feb. 26.
He was shot by Zimmerman after an altercation on his way back to the home of his father's fiancé, where he was staying, triggering a media firestorm.
The video below doesn't change anything about the controversial case, as the shooting - which Zimmerman claims was self-defense - is obviously not shown.
Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder but remains free on bail. Martin's family yesterday criticized a series of leaks in the case.
Without video of the altercation itself, it remains to be seen who instigated what, and if the charge against the assailant will stand up in court.

American Idol Results: Who Made the Finals?
I love you guys so much because you have the courage to have a dream.
That's what Steven Tyler told the remaining three American Idol contestants tonight. Alas, for one of Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet, the dream is now over. So... following a painful Ice Age 3 tie-in and a performance by Adam Lambert, who got voted out of season 11?

The talented crooner takes it very well and even brings his mom on stage as he sings farewell via "Man's Man's Man's World."
This leaves Jessica Sanchez, likely the best voice of the season, and Phillip Phillips, the obligatory cute-white-guy-with-a-guitar-who-wins-every-season, to square off on next week's finale.

Jason Biggs: TIME Magazine's "Are You Wife Enough" Spoof
He's already spoofed the KONY 2012 founder's meltdown earlier this year and now Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen have reenacted one of the most controversial magazine covers to hit the stands.
On Sunday (May 16), the couple paid tribute to Mother's Day and the controversial TIME magazine cover that released last week by showing off a Twitter pic of Jason breastfeeding from his wife with a caption reading, "Are you wife enough?"
The phrase is meant to mock the mag cover that reads "Are you mom enough?" as Jamie Lynne Grumet is seen breastfeeding her three-year-old son. The controversial photo was meant to bring awareness to attachment parenting.
Whether or not the real photo made a positive or negative impact on the parenting method, it's sure making a headline wave around the world!

There may be a break for the family of April Kauffman. New Jersey radio host, and businesswoman extraordinaire, she was found shot to death in her bedroom last week. Kauffman’s claim to fame was her job as a radio personality in the New Jersey area. She was also well known as a strong advocate for military veterans. Her voice could be heard hosting a show on WOND up until earlier this year. Police believe the murder occurred sometime over night on Thursday. A friend of her’s named Donna Clementoni says she sent the slain DJ an email around 2AM the night before she was found dead. Her friend called her a “local legend,” and says they were planning an event to benefit war veterans together at the time of her death. The most amazing thing I was able to find on her is that she would spend her Thanksgiving providing a loving meal to nearly 50 recruits from the Cape May U.S. Coast Guard Training Center. Pairing up for a Mother's Day weekend excursion, Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth tended to their canine walking duties in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday (May 12).
The nose ring sporting "LOL" actress followed alongside her "Hunger Games" actor beau as he held rescue dog Mary Jane's leash during the stroll around their Tinseltown neighborhood.
