Australian pop star Dannii Minogue is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery to remove her appendix. The singer and reality TV personality was admitted to a hospital in West London on Saturday after suffering crippling stomach pains. Wild Pitcher: Derek Lowe Arrested For DUI
Quite the week for the Atlanta Braves.
First, pitching coach Roger McDowell's gay slurs came under heavy scrutiny from the league. Now pitcher Derek Lowe has been arrested for a DUI.
At least Chipper Jones (.289, 21 RBIs) hasn't been hurt yet this year.
Lowe got popped last night in Atlanta after a trooper stopped him “detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage” and gave him a field sobriety test.
Lowe's BAC wasn't higher than his WHIP (1.34) but it may have been close.
Lowe refused to take the state administered alcohol test and was booked and taken to the jail in Atlanta. He was released this morning on $2,944 bail.
A police spokesman revealed that Lowe was also charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain in his lane, which is why he was pulled over.

Lowe is 2-3 with a 3.21 ERA in 2011. He is still scheduled to start this Sunday.

Report: Paul Wesley Marries Torrey DeVitto
Sounding as if they've made the ultimate commitment, reports tell that Paul Wesley has wed his actress girlfriend Torrey DeVitto in a super-secret ceremony.
The couple are said to have tied the knot during a recent exchange of vows at an undisclosed location in New York, according to Life & Style magazine.
No further details have been made available while a rep for the pair has been unwilling to comment at the current time.
The two co-starred in the 2007 film "Killer Movie," with Paul having moved on to the hit CW show "The Vampire Diaries" while Torrey is best known as Melissa Hastings in TV drama "Pretty Little Liars."

Lara Logan Speaks on Egyptian Assault
For the first time since she was assaulted by a mob in Egypt, Lara Logan is telling her story.
"There was a moment that everything went wrong," the CBS reporter said to 60 Minutes, adding that her clothes were "torn to pieces" by a group of protesters.
The long-time journalist feared for her life during the attack.
"There was no doubt in my mind that I was in the process of dying. I thought not only am I going to die, but it's going to be just a torturous death that's going to go on forever," she explained to correspondent Scott Pelley.
The interview will air this Sunday, after which Logan says she won't discuss the harrowing incident again because she doesn't want it to "define" her.
Upon seeing her kids, Logan said she "felt like I had been given a second chance that I didn't deserve... because I did that to them. I came so close to leaving them, to abandoning them. I am so much stronger [now]."

Michael Douglas on 'Oprah': Media "Outed" Catherine Zeta-Jones' Bipolar Disorder
Michael Douglas sat down with Oprah Winfrey in an interview airing Tuesday on The Oprah Winfrey Show, speaking openly about his fight with cancer and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones' ongoing struggle with bipolar disorder.
In their discussion, which airs Tuesday, Douglas, 66, reveals that Zeta-Jones, 41, decided to go public because her condition had been "outed" by the media. "I must say, Catherine's being quite open about it because she was outed, you know," he says, referring to the fact that Zeta-Jones went public with her struggle just hours after the National Enquirer reported she was in a mental-health facility. "She went to go get some help, and some other patient probably in there said, 'Hey, you won't believe who's in here now.' And, so, once that happens, I think she felt (it) best to kind of get out the story."
In an interview with People last week, Zeta-Jones spoke out about her condition. "If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it," she said. "There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help."
For his part, Douglas was diagnosed with throat cancer last August and has been undergoing treatment. In January, he told Matt Lauer on Today that "the tumor is gone." In his interview with Oprah, Douglas reveals that he still has to have monthly checkups to be sure the cancer has not returned -- and so far he's received a clean bill of health. "I'm cool," Douglas says with a grin.
Winfrey asked Douglas if Zeta-Jones' condition might have been exacerbated by trying to keep a "stiff upper lip" as her husband went through cancer treatments, and Douglas joked, "My oldest son is in federal prison, my ex-wife is suing me, and I got cancer. It's kind of hard for the wife to say, 'I'm depressed.'"

Katie Couric: I'm Leaving CBS News
After much speculation, Katie Couric has made it official! Five years after becoming the first woman to host a nightly newscast on her own, Couric has finally announced that she is moving on.
"I have decided to step down from the CBS Evening News," she said in a statement Tuesday. "I'm really proud of the talented team on the CBS Evening News and the award-winning work we've been able to do. In making the decision to move on, I know Evening News will be in great hands, but I am excited about the future."
With Couric's contract expiring in June, there has been plenty of talk in recent weeks that the 54-year-old journalist would be vacating her position. But Couric says she has no plans to leave the news world altogether -- she's just looking for new challenges in her career.
"I am looking at a format that will allow me to engage in more multi-dimensional storytelling," she says. "The bottom line is that I love doing all kinds of different stories. I have a lot of areas of interest and I want to be able to fulfill all of that."
"There's a lot to be proud of during Katie Couric's time at Evening News, a rep for CBS said, regarding Couric's departure. "CBS News, like Katie herself, is looking forward to the next chapter."

Donald Trump vs. Robert De Niro: The Feud Is On!
Somebody needs to tell Donald Trump that the point of a political campaign is to get people to like you. The billionaire TV personality, who has declared that he might run for president in 2012, is making a lot of enemies by supporting the birther movement (which calls for President Obama to disclose his birth certificate to prove that he was born in the U.S. -- and is thus eligible to be president).
Last week, Jerry Seinfeld dropped out of a Trump-sponsored fundraiser over Trump's comments on the issue, prompting the Donald to rage against him in the media. Now Trump is taking pot shots an even more respected celebrity: Robert De Niro.
In an interview with Brian Williams at the Tribeca Film Festival, the normally press-shy De Niro spoke out against birthers and their most high-profile champion, though he did decline to name names.
"I won't mention any of the certain people on the news in the last couple weeks," De Niro said when Williams brought up politics. "But what are we doing? This is crazy. They’re making statements about people that they don’t even back up. Go get the facts before you start saying things about people.
"It’s like a big hustle. It’s like being a car salesman," De Niro continued. "Don’t go out there and say things unless you can back them up. How dare you? That’s awful to do. To just go out there and speak and say these terrible things?"
Despite Williams making a Celebrity Apprentice joke, De Niro refused to name Trump explicitly in his rant. We think that was actually pretty classy of him -- but the Donald doesn't see it that way. On Monday's episode of Fox & Friends, the potential Republican candidate said that De Niro is "not the brightest bulb on the planet."
"I like his acting, but in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we’re not dealing with Albert Einstein," said Trump. "He can say what he wants, but the fact is that (Obama) has not revealed his birth certificate, a lot of people agree with me."
Trump's total lack of diplomacy makes for great reality TV, but it's pretty baffling from a political candidate. So far, anyone who's dared to disagree with his fringe views has been called a moron and ridiculed in the press. It's the kind of grandstanding that garners TV ratings but not a seat in the Oval Office -- but perhaps TV ratings is what the Donald is ultimately shooting for. As one Celebrity Apprentice contestant tells Popeater, "This is all made up speculation that's designed to generate ratings... (Trump) is a genius at getting his name back in the headlines."

Sarah Shahi Rips into Paris Hilton for Reckless Driving
Wow, someone is angry! Actress Sarah Shahi took to her Twitter account to give Paris Hilton a piece of her mind, after the socialite allegedly almost hit Shahi with her car and ran a stop sign.
"Paris Hilton - Worst driver ever," the Fairly Legal star wrote Friday. "Almost hit me, then ran a stop sign. What if there was a kid around the corner, you dumb b*tch."
But that was just the beginning. The L Word actress went on to call Hilton a "blonde piece of sh*t," and Shahi said Hilton should "apologize to humanity."
Shahi says she was so heated by Hilton's carelessness because she has a child of her own, Wolf Howey, almost 2.
"I wouldn't be as pissed if I weren't a mom," she wrote. "What an irresponsible person. What a lame existence. Horrible excuse for a human being."
That was some heated rant by Shahi, right? While Hilton has yet to respond to the actress, we've got to think there is more behind these posts than just a failure to read a driver's manual.

Emma Watson to Transfer From Brown
A spokeswoman for Harry Potter star Emma Watson says she will be transferring from Brown University to another higher education institution.
Emma announced last month she was taking a hiatus at Brown, but has denied reports that she "bullied out" of the Rhode Island university.
Her rep said Saturday that Watson, who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter series, decided to pursue a different course not offered at Brown.
She added that despite the decision to transfer, the star "has absolutely loved her time at Brown" and made a lot of good friends there.
Watson has recently taken time out of her studies to focus on her movie career. She has said that her first days in college were difficult.
The rep did not identify the university Watson, who stars in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 this July, will be transferring to.
