Caroline Manzo of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey has made it famously clear: "You mess with my family," she said in the last season finale, "you mess with me." So let's tread lightly when discussing the latest Housewives news: Her sons, Chris and Albie, are rumored to be getting their own spin-off show on Bravo.
So far, these two lovable lunkheads -- the 24-year-old ladies man, Albie, and the 21-year-old cutup, Chris -- have played a minor role in mom's show. But they've starred in Bravo's Real Kids of New Jersey webisodes (basically just extra footage involving the grown children, made available on the show's site page). And in October, the pair gamely agreed to let Patti Stanger set them up on a Millionaire Matchmaker episode. The crossover worked: Matchmaker's ratings spiked, and the Manzo brothers upgraded their image to that of rich, eligible bachelors.
Bravo hasn't commented. But The New York Post reports that the bros have been enjoying a lot more female attention, which has led to their decision to move out of Caroline's house -- and into their own bachelor pad in Hoboken.
Will these guys be able to carry their own show? Even Caroline would have to admit that the pair haven't been central to the drama that's fueled the success of her show. Sure, they've voiced their opinions about the diabolical Danielle Staub. But they are generally genial guys, as evidenced in this clip from Millionaire Matchmaker, as well as in this other one. Any attention these two have received of their own accord has merely been for their looks and eligible status. Is that enough?
Well, no doubt Caroline thinks so. And we're not going to mess with her.
