Vanessa Hudgens Likes Exploring "Darker" Roles

It was a family affair for Vanessa Hudgens on Friday (June 15) as she spent the day with her mother Gina and sister Stella in Topanga, CA.

The darling trio shopped at the mall as the Hudgens? sisters dressed like twins in matching denim shorts with loose tank tops and military style boots while they tried to hide from the awaiting photographers.

The ?High School Musical? star was spotted later in the day running out of her home in Studio City, CA to greet a family member with a kiss and a hug sporting the same hippie-chic apparel.

In career news, the 23-year-old recently opened up to Glamour South Africa, saying, ?I've been recently doing a few projects that are darker, deeper and heavier,? adding, ?Reading these situations in the movie where our characters rob people, which has such a harsh and hard element, was something that I just liked.?

Miley Cyrus: Headed for the Studio

Kicking off another work day, Miley Cyrus was spotted leaving her hotel in Miami, Florida earlier today (June 15).

Joined by a guy pal, the ?Party in the USA? songstress appeared to be in good spirits as she made her way to a nearby studio sporting a black top, white shorts, and black boots.

As for the recent rumors that Miley and Liam Hemsworth got engaged as a result of an unplanned pregnancy, Cyrus? mom Tish took to her Twitter account to set the record straight.

Tish tweeted, "So sad that the nasty tabloids have to make up stories to sell their trashy mags. Cant they just leave these 2 alone and let them be happy?? makes me so sad. This should be the happiest time of [their] lives and it makes me sick they USE her to sell mags? Thanks to all the Miley supporters who LOVE her."
